Overview

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Torrance Water Damage Restoration (“we,” “us”) runs the website torrancewaterdamagerestoration.com and the phone line (424) 300-7170. The site gives general information about water damage in Torrance, California, and connects callers with independent, licensed local service providers who do the work.

This policy covers information we collect through the website, the phone line and email. It does not cover the providers you speak with. Once a provider has your details, its own privacy practices apply, so ask the provider if you have questions about how it handles them.

What we collect

Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and connect your call.

  • When you call. Our call tracking provider logs your phone number, the date and time of the call, how long it lasted, and the general area your number belongs to. Calls may be recorded. A recording can include anything you say, such as your name, address and details about the damage.
  • When you email us. We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write.
  • If we add a contact form. We would collect what you type into it, such as your name, phone number, email, address and a description of the problem. This policy will apply to that form.
  • When you browse. Like most websites, our server and plugins record basic technical data: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, the page that sent you here, and the time of your visit.
  • Cookies. WordPress sets cookies mainly for logged-in users and people who leave comments. We may add analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, which use cookies to count visits and see which pages help people. We also use Google Search Console, which reports how the site appears in search results and does not set cookies on your device.

We don’t ask for payment details, Social Security numbers or other sensitive financial data, and we ask that you don’t send them.

How we use and share it

How We Use and Share Your Information

We use your information to connect your call, answer your emails, keep the site working and secure, understand which pages are useful, and meet legal duties.

We share information in these ways:

  • With the service provider who handles your request. When you call, your call is routed to an independent local provider. The provider receives your phone number and what you say on the call, and it may receive the call record and recording. The provider may pay us for calls it receives. We share this because you called to be connected with someone who can help, and the provider can’t help without it.
  • With companies that run parts of the site for us. This includes our call tracking provider, web host, email service and, if we add them, analytics tools. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • For legal reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the safety and rights of callers, providers or us.
  • If the site changes hands. If the site is sold or transferred, your information may go to the new owner, who must follow this policy or tell you about changes.

We don’t sell your information to data brokers, advertisers or list buyers, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and analytics

Your Cookie and Analytics Choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, although some features may not. If we turn on Google Analytics, you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics on every site.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information.

California rights

Your California Privacy Rights

California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives California residents rights over their personal information. The California Privacy Protection Agency describes them. We honor these requests from California residents:

  • Right to know. Ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, why we use it, and who we share it with.
  • Right to delete. Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, with some legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct. Ask us to fix information that’s wrong.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Ask us not to sell your information or share it for targeted advertising. We don’t do either today. Sharing your call with the provider you called to reach is done at your direction, so we treat it as part of the service you asked for. If you don’t want a provider to receive your details, tell us before or during the call, or email us afterward and we will stop any further sharing of that call.
  • Right to limit sensitive information. We don’t collect sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond handling your request.
  • No discrimination. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.

To make a request, email contact@torrancewaterdamagerestoration.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Tell us the phone number or email address you used, so we can find your records and confirm the request is yours. You may use an authorized agent. We aim to respond within 45 days.

Please note that we can delete our own copies of your information, but a provider that already received your call keeps its own records. We will pass your deletion request on to that provider when we can.

Retention and security

How Long We Keep Information and How We Protect It

We keep call records and recordings for up to 24 months, so we can answer questions about a call and handle disputes. We keep emails as long as we need them to answer you, and no longer than 24 months unless the law requires more. Website logs and analytics data are kept for the periods our host and analytics tools set, usually 14 months or less.

We use reasonable steps to protect information, such as secure (HTTPS) connections and limited account access. No website or phone system is fully secure, so we can’t promise that information will never be lost or misused.

Children

Children’s Privacy

This site is meant for adults dealing with home repairs. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

Changes to This Policy and How to Reach Us

We may update this policy as the site changes, for example if we add a contact form or new analytics tools. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page. Big changes will be noted on the page.

Questions about this policy or your information? Email contact@torrancewaterdamagerestoration.com. You can also read our Terms of Use, learn how the site works, or visit our contact page.

This policy is a plain-English summary of our practices. It is not legal advice.
